The cover on the Red Rodney Signal LP S 1206 is strictly low rent. The right side is fine with artists' names, but the photo by Don Schlitten is not flattering or historic. The cover lists Philly Joe Jones as drummer, but Elvin Jones (not listed) is the drummer on Side B. Other than that, the personnel is excellent!

The James Mason is an excellent jazz funk LP and it saddens me to say that $380 is a Steal for it these days. It goes for double that fairly regularly.

The Zoot Sims on Ducretet- Thomson swings like crazy, Jon Eardley makes a super contribution too, and the recording has amazing sonics for its time. I only have the Sawano re-issue, but it is great listening.

That James Mason is a very desirable funk record and has been for some time. Not my area of expertise but I can see why people dig it.
