  • Just stumbled upon this site when looking up some old Blue Note LP catalog numbers. Found the article referencing Duke Jordan’s Flight to Jordan very interesting. I wish I had the capital to bid on some of these original releases but will need to settle on re-issues. I’m glad that Bruce Lundvall opened up the vaults and Don Was (home town guy as I am also a born and breed Detroiter) kept up the tradition. I am fortune that there are many used LP stores in the area where I can occasionally find a diamond in the rough.

  • I loved me that Swingville label. Jazz Record Mart had a swath of the titles at budget prices around the late ‘60’s/early 70’s. For a new comer as myself with a minuscule allowance to provide for such lp purchases, I loved them bargains and cut outs.
