I just did a post about the Jutta Hipp auction. Jan, what happens when you see one bidder reacting immediately when there is a new bid placed is this: If I put in a $5,000 bid and the top bid is currently $3,000, if someone bids $3,500, it will show the $3,500 bid and then immediately show a $3,550 bid for me. If a new bidder goes to $4,000, it will show that bid, then immediately show a $4,050 bid for me. It goes that way until the second bidder bids more than my top bid.

Jutta Hipp: One bidder is driving up the price for one weak now.
In my opinion nobody really interested in winning the record would do that. Always a little suspicious if one bidder reacts immedeatly when there is a new bid placed by driving the price to a new maximum.
