If you're taking suggestions, I'd love to see more "Jazz Collector’s Essentials". The one you did for Cannonball was a great read, and spurred some good conversation. What are your Essential Jazz Messengers albums? :)

yeah, this is pretty good.

The cascading lines in both Backstage Sally and Reincarnation Blues are a pleasure. But Moon River always wrecks it for me.

Less buzz here. I guess you're on your own on this one.

Thanks, Pablo. I will consider writing it. If you would like to start by writing a guest article I would be happy to publish it (this invitation also goes to anyone else out there). You can send me something via email to al@jazzcollector.com. I don't have any of the RVG Prestiges, to be honest, because I haven't bought CDs for a while. Maybe I'll check one out to see what you're talking about, although it will be painful I'm sure to buy a CD again.

Dear Al,

Just a thought; as I now time is always a constrain. I enjoy reading your entries. Will you consider publishing an article on your web page about vinyl vs. Cds? About the sound quality of the latest remastered RVG series vs. the original vinyls?. Just an example: at least to my ears the RVG copy of Coltrane's Black Pearls sounds much better than my old Prestige Lp copy, which has pops and surface noise. I understand the value of owning an original pressing; but what will you choose for daily listening? Also the portability of the CD vs. the Lp?
