Bob the dj you kick. Oh boy. Don't get me started. He sold a Kenny Drew UNDERCURRENTS re-issue for over $500.00 this week. Check this out for obfuscation purposes: He grades the cover VG++(+) and the whole bottom of the cover was water damaged! He also graded covers of some Gene Vincent records the same and they had 6-8 inch splits on top and bottom!!!!!!! OUCH! Poor buyers of those lps!! I've seen better condition original presses of the Kenny Drew lp go for much less. There is a sucker born every 5 minutes like PT Barnum says!

Yeah, some jazz record prices are high with some EBAY auctions, especially while being conducted by first class sellers :)
I will try my luck with the next record show at the Holiday Inn, next month in New York !

BTW,what keeps me from parting with some of my goodies(unless I have extra copies) is the no doubt crazy price I'd have to pay to replace them. We all can list lps that we unloaded at some point and still kick ourselves from time to time for having done so-right?

Yeah, I think I got that same Larry Young in M- condition for uh, $40.00 at some point in the last decade and even that seemed "up there."

I suppose mono Liberty pressings of things like "Adam's Apple" are rare enough, and if I recall correctly those were DJ/promo-only. I think Atomic Records sold one not that long ago for about the same price. Hank Mobley's "Hi Voltage" and Andrew Hill's "Andrew!!!" also came out in that version, and they're usually pretty pricey. Lee Morgan's "Gigolo" as well, I think.

When did Sam Rivers Blue Notes get that expensive? I mean, they're really nice records, but they've passed through my hands a number of times and I've never felt they were high up on the BN totem pole price-wise.
