vol. 3 is absolutely gorgeous, thanks Kees; I don't have the 10" album, but I dohave B08000L, on U.K. Philips.
Mattyman: this double album you showed looks to be collectible as well.
Happy New Year to Al and all those on board of jazzcollector.

The Jazz Behind The Dikes records were originally issued by Dutch Philips as one 10" (P10078R) and two LP's (vol2 B08000L,vol3 P08004L) All the music is also issued as two cd's by Phonogram in '91. I am not sure if they are still available.
The music gives is a good cross section of the dutch modern jazz scene.A mint copy of the records is hard to find ,but you see them now and then on ebay.I have sold vol3 to Rudolf and got no complaints..
To Artie:I have got "The Honeydripper"(Jack McDuff with Jimmy Forrest),but I am not sure if I am prepared to sell it.

Rudolf: I am absolutely familiar with Jazz Behind The Dikes, but not because I have the original 10" records from '55 and 56': the Jazz Behind The Dikes Volumes 1, 2 and 3 have all been reissued in the seventies and finally in the eighties. They're still not available on CD as far as I know. The reissue that I have is a cheap looking double LP and I quickly stole some photos of internet to show you what mine looks like, 'cause right now I don't have the time to make photographs. Click HERE, there's also a nice track listing. You can also check this link from Discogs; I've never really done my best to look for the original 10" pressings, and given the prejudiced attitude that some people have towards anything that features Rita Reys and/or Pim Jacobs, even though there is so much more good music on there from other artists and acts, it actually shouldn't be really difficult to find them... Thanks for the reminder, Rudolf!

Artie: got your question, but friends were not interested to pass on my reply and it came back to me undelivered.
My reserve was $ 179, but I had expected much higher bids, like for the other Duke Pearson inspired album, Little Johhny C, which sold for $ 615.

That is a good question. II don't have Fred's book on Blue Note, but, in view of what you have noticed, I would have thought this one to be a second pressing, but, really, I am not sure. As you know, I am a Prestige specialist, only having bought Blue Notes occasionally (and now selling them!).
P.S. I am listening at the moment to Herman's Hanky, by the Herman Schoonderwalt Septet, on Jazz Behind the Dikes, vol. 2, produced for Philips in 1955 by Michiel de Ruyter. Does that ring some bells with you?

Rudolf, your copy on eBay of Sonny Rollins 1542 has the trademark "R" on the label of side 2. The first catalogue number with "inc" and "R" was Horace Silver 4017, so would you consider your copy of Rollins a second or third pressing?
