What do you think about this one: https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/599553110
Price seems ridiculous but did anybody of you ever encountered a still-sealed KOB in mono...?

While in San Fransisco for the Holidays, I visited Amoeba records, near Golden Gate Park, with collector-jazz-writer Bill Schweitzer and collector-professional potter, Larry Letofsky. We were looking for King Oliver and Anson Weeks 78s but couldn't find any. Instead, I bought a copy of the new two-disk album, Sonny Clark Trio The 1960 Time Sessions, with George Duvivier and Max Roach, issued on the Tompkins Square label. Tompkins Square is a piece of real estate in New York City. Disc One has all the originally issued master takes. Disc Two contains alternate takes. The sound is excellent; the labels drab. The album includes Nat Hentoff's original liner notes, plus new notes by Ben Ratliff, formerly of The New York Times. Recommended. I paid $33.98, but you may be able to find it cheaper. Amoeba also had several Japanese pressings of American albums I had not seen before at, what to me were, hefty prices.

I have a couple of nice original copies of KOB, alas, not promos, but I find the 'Music fidelity Sound Lab' 45rpm pressing
wipes the floor with the original and it's pretty difficult to listen to the original after..

I am always surprised at just what an enjoyable record KOB is, it's so obvious and for that reason i guess most of us with large collections bypass it a bit. Dig it out and spin it...it's justifiably a landmark date. To state the obvious!

the donaldson sold for just 316. pretty incredible to see any vintage 10'' in decent shape these days, much less one so desirable, so i'm a little amazed the price wasn't higher, even though it was decently over my house limit.
