I would be highly suspicious of any auction for so much money when the seller has 0 feedback.

if the records you are selling are quality then you have no risk, the market as we all know is good and if as I said the items are good they will sell and at the price bidders are willing to pay. The risk is if they are not too collectable you won't get what you imagined to be the acceptable amount. No risks no gamble.
Any how its swings and roundabouts if your selling a collection...some bits will be worth good money some won't.... Buy it now? but then who knows the correct price NOW, you may set it too high and wont shift the item at all or you may go too low and stitch yourself up. Welcome to the wonderful merry go round of second hand records. P.S If you have an original Mint 1568 and are setting the buy it now to $100 please do not hesitate to drop me a line!!!! ;-)

I am selling some of my dad's jazz collection on ebay under nmoke410. I start authentic items from Blue Note etc... at .99. The risk makes me ill. Is there a better forum for selling his collection? Should I be using the auction format or "buy it now" feature?

Not vouching for any of this, but I think the exact round numbers come from someone meeting the buyer's reserve with the last bid. Previous rounds didn't end on even figures, and didn't meet reserve.

Al, it's ok to be sceptical and even a little paranoid, as there's hustlers out there, sunsetstripvinyl, nautiluso and so on. There's so much money involved many times and I sure don't take risks with that kind of cash. Let's see what the feedback tell's us for these auctions later..

I'm always a little suspicious when the bid is an exact number like $2,000 for the Pepper record. Not sure insider trading is the right word, but something seems a little off, and I also remember that some of our readers had some questions about this seller. The second Hmmm for the Mobley/Morgan record is result of just one bidder and a round number. Maybe I'm just getting cynical all these years of watching eBay.

Yeah, that is a little sketchy with the seller's 0 feedback. Also, hasn't Leon Levitt's "best friend" been deemed a little sketchy?
