New Jazz has two different widths on the deep groove? Never noticed that. Which came first, is there a catalog number where the change begins or is it a first/second pressing difference?

How about Blue Note, Riverside or Prestige?

Maybe Gregory the Fish could listen “Sonia” on the Sonny Clark trio on Time. Or the “Love for Sale” intro on Dexter Gordon’s “Go”. But i must admit that “Cool Struttin” is not definitely not among my favourite Blue Note albums.

The McLean 8212 is not an original. Has narrow deep groves. This one is bound to be an expensive noisy record. With a sharp cover, i must admit. ;-).

Please listen to Sonny’s intro on “Deep Night”(Cool Struttin’),the timeless groove evident on “I Didn’t Know What Time It Was”(Sonny Clark Trio) and the amazing interplay between Sonny,Art Blakey and Grant Green on “It Ain’t Necessarily So”(Grant Green:Complete Quartets),his trio version of “Can’t We Be Friends?”(Standards)…if you still feel ill(not diggin’ SC,that is)seek professional help immediately!

I have a feeling that that price for Cool Struttin’s will soar when the snipes come in. It will be an affordable later copy, but it will be much sought after and then will sell for well beyond it’s worth…sort of the way jazz LPs are going lately.
