was recorded in Stockholm during a concert tour of the J.J. Johnson quintet. In fact, the trio on the three Metronome EP’s is the rhythm section of J.J. The fifth man was Bobby Jaspar.

Great guy. He recently bought a huge ‘hoarder’ collection with some really nice clean jazz lp’s. He’s been putting the better ones up on the auction site over the past few months. Nice brick & mortar store that has been serving the metro Detroit area for decades.

Agree completely with your evaluation Michel. Savoy put out a lot of material that had interesting combinations of musicians ( A. K.Salim sessions), and like you said because it is on Savoy, has been somewhat ignored/undervalued both musically and monetarily.

As you know it is the rarest Prestige album. Anyway, the real first issue was, IIRC a swedish set of 3 metrnome EP. The record was recorded in Stockholm during a Duke Ellington tour. Anyone correct me if i’m wrong. This a fantastic trio session, but there are many others you can buy for less than 20 $ on Ebay.

Regarding Peckin Time, another fine session, with Hank and Lee but the price is essentially due to the fact that it is a Blue Note original. I’m listening “Night People” by Mort Herbert, this record is worth less than 15 $, musical quality is equivalent (to say the least) but it is on Savoy.
