Let’s start a ‘top fifty most collectible American jazz records’. Its important for the younger collectors to know about the holy grails before that knowledge is relegated to the coffee houses of Japan. I’ll start with these four gems:

Art Pepper: Modern Art (Intro)
Tommy Flanagan: Overseas (Prestige)
George Wallington Quintet: At the Bohemia (Progressive)
Lawrence Marable Quartet: Tenorman (JazzWest)

What makes a record a holy grail?: The combination of extreme rarity, true originality, and first class musicianship.

The Cracklin is a great LP. I find the condition of the LPs not up to my standard. I would not be happy with any of them.

Wow ! What is this thing called_ _ _ _? Gotta have it ,can’t afford it. The good news Is that global warming was almost stoped by Lennib’s remarks . I really think the earth cooled by his Prestige remark “it’s probably……” gotta go now, the Blue Note on the turntable is skipping !
