Caroline – I was under the impression that 1516 was not issued with a frame jacket and is denoted as not having one in Fred’s book. Has anyone ever seen a frame jacket for 1516? I believe it is the only original Lexington address LP without a frame jacket.

AL: The Jutta Hipp 1516 was not a first (original) pressing. I contacted the seller directly, and was informed by the seller that the Hipp 1516 LP cover was most definitely NOT a Gakubushi frame cover… Caroline

I have always enjoyed the two different labels. There just seems to be something peculiar and uncommon about it. I can see why collectors might pay a premium for something that is different. That kind of money is more than I would ever spend, but when I pull a record out of a cover and the labels are different or it’s a white label promo, well that just feels like Christmas morning! prices for original-esque blue notes are jumping mightily. i was at dusty groove today and they have a non-DG non-ear “at’s delight” for $160. crazy.
