Agreed : Wahrol was to become an iconic artist, associated with the hippest part of the XXth century art. His contribution is fundamental. We can not say the same about DSM, who is known only in the (small) jazz connoisseurs club….

I think it’s what you say, plus the fact that Warhol went on to become a world renowned artist whose original work is worth scores of millions of dollars.
There is a definitive DSM album cover collection book. It’s called David Stone Martin Jazz Graphics by Manek Daver. It was published in Japan and is in both Japanese and English. I believe it is out of print, but I was fortunate to purchase a copy on eBay a few years ago. I’ll write a separate post on it when I get some time later today or later in the week. — al

it is strange that Warhol covers bring more than covers designed by good old DSM. Because there are less Warhol designs than DSM’s? or because the Norgran/Clef/Verve catalogue is less in vogue?
I wonder when the definite DSM album cove collection book comes out, if ever.
