I can't comment much on why it’s so slow for high-end jazz lps, but I can confirm that the Joe Newman lp is a solid one. I recently found one in upstate NY for $4/VG+. That was a good day.

Al, what is going on (IMHO) is that people are scared by this financial tsunami. They don't spend on records. It is just not the right moment to put quality items up for sale. But, this being said, it can be buyers' bonanza. If you have been wise enough to keep some of your assets just in cash, you can go on a buying spree.
I have still one auction going, but will not be selling for a while.
Also, EBay is getting more and more difficult with non US based sellers (there is something cooking for the month of October). The system does not provide for an international presence. They want to push foreigner sellers to their national sites (EBay.france or -.deutschland or -.nederland etc); they want to impose Paypal as the only way of payment (which is against the law in a number of countries) and insist on US based shipping rates for foreign sellers, which are not applicable by definition. Our friends from the Far East, not to speak of our American friends, will never consult sites in other languages. So, sales will drop, or there will be no sales at all.
Anyway, gloom all over! cheers, Rudolf
