Bit late to the debate but on checking my Blue Note 45's as well as those listed above I have two USA copies of 1921 Blue Mitchell - Fungi Mama and one of those is red.

On the subject of the 7" Jukebox Little LP's with Covers/Strips etc I have 21 of these and know of at least one other that I don't have.

Hope this helps, thanks.

I'm starting to believe that Blue Note 45-1630, 1912 and 1922 are the only Blue Note 45's issued on red wax, as they're the only ones I have ever seen/found. I could be wrong. The Horace Silver "Doodlin'" 45 was originally issued with the Lexington address, the red wax copy was issued much later, so I personally doubt it was issued as a dee-jay/promo/review copy. The red wax pressing do look good and are rather obscure, same with the Prestige 45's on red wax, which are more likely to be "review" copies since they are mostly really early pressings with the 10th Avenue addresses. Nice topic, thanks for opening the discussion!

I too have the "Doodlin'" on red vinyl, it seems to be a later pressing because of the address on the label. I'll have to check when I get home, but I believe the original Doodlin is either on Lex or W 63rd label while this red wax version is on 61st. These red Blue Notes are not common and very few and far between. On another subject, what are the Blue Note EP's (7" 45s with hard cardboard covers), I believe there were only 4 or 5 of this configuration issued by Blue Note unlike the Savoys and Prestiges. if there is such a thread already, somebody please send me a link, thanks!
