It's interesting for sure. LJC's analysis clearly supports Aaron's example, that the first pressing of 1382 should be white fan: https://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/2014/10/02/ljc-jazz-collectors-guide-to-the-first-pressings-of-the-atlantic-label/
.
Here's another strange item which confuses it even more for me: WLP copies of Ole (1373) are ALSO black fan, even though it is even more firmly in the white fan time period: http://collectorsfrenzy.com/gallery/140823966171.jpg
.
Further, LJC shows white fan WLP promo copies up to at least 1389! So why would both 1373 and 1382 WLP feature a black fan? Very confusing.

Hi Earl,
Typically it does as WLP copies are generally made when the album is first released so they should share the same printing as the color stock labels.

Does it necessarily follow that the WLP would have to have the same fan color as a standard label?

Joe L, thanks for posting that. I guess since this was right at the transition some plants had the earlier label and some the later. It is interesting to see the WLP with a later version of the label than some stock copies.

Aaron - you're right, but it's soooo close in time to the white fan / black fan changeover that I would be hard-pressed to say it's 100% for sure that the first pressing run was all white fan labels.
