The Plastylite “ear” went into the 4200 numbers until Liberty bought Blue Note. Rudy switched from the RVG inscription to VAN GELDER much earlier. Does anyone know the exact number he went from the hand written RVG to the stamped RVG to VAN GELDER?

you incited the flock to listen to this record. Well, I did, and, indeed, the music is great. Here is a man who stands up, is sure of himself and makes very coherent and convincng statements.
A great album, also thanks to a more than competent rhythm section and superb contributions by Freddie Hubbard. Very well recorded too.

Question: When did the RVG in the runout groove change to VAN GELDER? Was this the same time a the Ear went away?
