Very Interesting commmets about Duke Pearson and his Hush album.I had the original once in my possession.Straight from the man himself.Never knew what became of it after he passed.Wish that i still had it though.Because if bidding is starting at $300 for this particular album.I could never afford it.Duke Pearson was my uncle.My mothers only brother.

looks like there’s also a German Polydor issue of Hush under Byrd’s name, titled “Child’s Play.” I believe that this would be from the late ’60s.

I confirm this Pearson is a gem : the setting is rather unusual (frontline of two trumpets), and the music is fine, in the Byrd/Pearson Blue Note vein. The cover is terrific, also. It is on my want list, but i guess i’ll will not be able to match with BullSite2000 high bids.

(The Lone Hill CD includes some bonus/alternate tracks).

I believe there’s a Japanese pressing of the Pearson on Trio Records for those who are budget-minded like me… it’s always been one of those records that looked really cool, though I’ve never heard it.

those PC blue notes are near the top of my mental want list. you don’t have to many sessions led by bassist back then. i would love to hear them, especially whims. that line up! yum.
