Love The Cats..."Solacium" is a beautiful, gentle number. I have an early '80s OJC pressing that sounds great. :)

5017: I have had this record. It is a lacklustre affair. No bop to be found here. It is a Blue Note reissue of French Vogue LD-077 recorded in Paris around 1952 with Don Byas. The rest are French musicians and an unknown conga player. Of course, the inevitable vocals of Dizzy. Not even worth the 37 bucks.
The Cats: seller did not show a picture of the rear of the cover. Rears give always invaluable information. The labels looked all right though. $ 600 seems a good price for buyer and seller. The album is a topper. I love it.

According to the always reliable wikipedia, New Jazz Conceptions only sold 800 copies in its first year. Maybe they figured Bill looked too stuffy in his suit so they tried something different.
