On riverside is Misterioso (lrp 279) my favorite album. I love the tenor of johnny Griffin.

I don’t have it but am ordering the disc now. Thanks for the advice. Most of the monk I have is on Columbia(cheaper), and the mosaic sets.

To Mike: I totally share Rudolf’s advise. A wonderful set. I own a blue labeled copy – which is a second pressing – these are still available without ruining your bank account…though I still hope that one day I will find an original for a reasonable price.

Mike: do you have the album? If so, enjoy it. If not, try to get a good copy without delay. It is one of the monuments of modern jazz, you cannot do without.

I remember some years ago, a NM copy of this one sold for 3000 $. Don’t think this outstanding price will be (ever) surpassed, but i bet it will fetch around 1200-1500

Yeah,the bidding on that OP seems pretty weird. Neither the info given “extremely rare original deep groove” nor the fact someone would pay that for such an easily found lp(in stereo,yet)makes any sense. I never buy an lp/cd on Ebay w/o clicking the “view similar items” tag. It often helps in getting the best price available…and $150 for this lp AIN’T it!(lol)

I’m puzzled about the Oscar Peterson LP as well. On the one hand, it’s a DG-issue and I’m quite sure, that Verve DG’s are not much around these days. On the other hand it’s a Stereo-issue. But there are “only” two bids by now and they settled the price.
