Zarabeth47, I struggled with those last minute high bidders for a while, too, until the older cats here told me to use "sniper" software. Personally I use the online sniper of GIXEN. It works like a charm for me. Just place your max amount in, log out and go to bed; the program will snipe for you in the meantime ;-)

LESSONS LEARNED:

Were you taught to not rush into things? So I am perusing Blue note records yesterday and I come across a 10 inch KENNY DREW TRIO for $59.99.
I dismiss it thinking it’s probably Japanese. Well, I think to myself , “Man, I better go back and look.”
Sure enough it’s original. Don’t rush in. Get facts. Stay calm. Ok, the seller is a very trust worthy seller that I have bought from before.
Hey grades VG on the record and says there are a lot of scuffs but no deep scratches.

Do I push the button? Reasonable thinking here. Maybe I’ll call him. So I call them up to get his visual on the record. Ok, I decide to buy the item. I go back to
Ebay to push the magic button and guess what. It’s gone. A goner! Sold! Snubbed from under me! Adios ma chacha!
This couldn’t of been more than 4 or 5 minutes tops. Lesson? Sometimes you need to take that chance! I’ve been burned by rushing in but I’ve also
Had great luck as well. Goes to show it’s just a crap shoot! Good luck all you collectors of great lps and have fun!
