Thomas, multiple examples of the same lp are currently on Discogs for $40-60, suggesting the seller + signature = $700 above normal!

@Daryl, I believe the answer to your question is in the question itself… For that price, I would personally have preferred the signed promo original copy of Phil Woods – Warm Woods, from the same seller. But the market is what it is, and auction results reflect what buyers are willing to pay for any given item.

Merry (belated) Christmas and happy new year everyone out their in the “Jazz Collective” ! I have actively been hunting for copies of Vice Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas on Fantasy 85019 over many years. It proved surprisingly difficult to pick up a mono copy (let alone a stereo copy) in decent shape and there was always a proverbial feeding frenzy of bidders to contend with each time one came up for auction. It’s just a great album and a Christmas classic. Needless to say, I was able to finally get NM copies of this one in both Mono and Stereo and they remain to this day as cherished lps in my collection. There is also an illusive promo label out there should your want to go for the trifecta ! Its funny how these things start. I was never one to collect Christmas lps initially, as truth be told I have most of them on CD. However, once I began to upgrade my hifi components over the last decade, I also found myself collecting lp copies of my favorites to keep the turntable spinning through December… They used to be relatively inexpensive to pick up, but prices for original pressings in decent shape have definitely increased with the demand over the last few years.

i’ve heard there is also a “droopy” version of the album, quite rare.. it features only ballads with a cynical twist.

This television show, which is one of the most watched and best loved shows in television history, is rapidly being forgotten. I was able to watch it with my 10 y.o. daughter last week, as I still have a Netflix DVD subscription.
