I remember watching last Christmas to New Year, great time to be a seller. Every potential buyer in the world is home for a few days, and with no work to fill his mind, becoming rapidly bored. He will flick on ebay and find all these desirable records! May be he has had his fill of spending hundreds of dollars buying presents for other people, figures it is time to treat himself with a present. Prices will be 20% more over the next few days as a result.

Giant Steps: I think we all concluded that the green/blue bull's eye stereo label is the first pressing. So, unless you are in the process of ditching all your stereo copies in exchange for mono ones, you should be happy.
SR: Owning and keeping extra copies of major albums. I could never resist to buy extra copies of music which I particularly dig. E.g. I have six copies of Relaxin' with the M.Davis Qnt. The NYC pressing, the first and second NJ pressings. The U.K. Esquire version and two versions on Danish Metronome. I sold the French Barclay version and regret it now.
With split label Blue Notes one enters a danger zone. If the vinyl is heavy, I don't mind, but if it is flimsy vinyl, I do. I have some NYC/NJ split labels on Prestige. They are O.K. I prefer them over NJ/NJ.

I have just found Goldmine Jazz Album Price Guide under the christmas tree... Interesting reading even though Santa Claus brought 2nd edition from 2004... Not sure how Tim Neely estimated the prices especially if one watches ebay regularly or check popsike... I have just got a NM copy of Bud Powell on Debut (10") for 200", highest price on popsike is 400$ and Golmine claims it is worth 800$ in the same condition. Not to mention Quiet Kenny is at 80$ or Cool Struttin' at 150$, both in NM condition of course... Can anyone explain how to understand this? Best New Year whishes to Al and all Jazz Collector readers.
