Here are some items we’ll be adding to the Jazz Collector Price Guide today:
Sonny Rollins With the Modern Jazz Quartet, Prestige 7029. This is an original New York pressing with the original Orange cover and the wrong catalogue number. It’s a very rare piece and this one was in M- condition, both record and cover. Price: $760
Johnny Griffin Sextet, Riverside 264. This was an original blue label pressing. The record was M- and the cover was VG++. Price: $294
Thelonious Monk, The Unique, Riverside 209. This was an original white label pressing. The record was VG+ and the cover was VG. The price was $161.50. Also from Monk: Thelonious Monk With Sonny Rollins, Prestige 7075. This was an original New York pressing. The record was VG++ and the cover was VG++. The price was $180.49.
John Coltane, Lush Life, Prestige 7188. This was an original New Jersey yellow label pressing. The record was VG++ and the cover was VG+. Price: $123
Charlie Parker, Bird on 52nd Street, Jazz Workshop 501. This was an original pressing in M- condition. Price: $223.50
Helen Merrill, Emarcy 36006. This was an original pressing with the blue writing on the back cover. The record was only VG- and the cover was just VG. Price: $261.60
Miles Davis, Dig, Prestige 7012. This was an original New York pressing. The record was VG++ and the cover was VG+. The price was $294. Also from Miles: Miles Davis Volume 1, Blue Note 1501. This was an original Lexington Avenue pressing. The record was VG++ and the cover was VG+. The price was $207.50. Plus, Miles Davis Volume 2, Blue Note 1502. This was also a Lexington Avenue pressing. The record and cover were VG+. Price: $170.20
Dexter Gordon, Daddy Plays the Horn, Bethlehem 36. This was an original red label pressing in VG+ condition. Price: $167.50
Hank Mobley, Jazz Message #2, Savoy 12092. This was an original red label pressing. The record was VG+ and the cover was VG. Price: $102.50
Jackie McLean, Alto Madness, Prestige 7114. This was a New York pressing. Record and cover were VG. Price: $255
Also from Jackie: Jackie McLean, Swing Swang, Swingin’, Blue Note 4024. This was an original West 63rd Street pressing. The record was VG+ and the cover was M-. Price: $315
Finally, Stan Getz, Long Island Sound, New Jazz 8214. This is a reissue, but it was in beautiful condition and has a great cover. Price: $106.50
