I would think that different preview copies would exist for, say, a liner note writer or someone at the label who worked on the release versus reviewer and DJ copies, who might need text and track titles.

Gregory – I have a Prestige White Label “Preview Copy” of Coltrane’s Settin’ the Pace on Prestige with the 203 Bergenfield, NJ address. I found it with a white generic cover. Not sure if these were ever issued with dedicated covers or if they were all provided in generic sleeves. I’ve been trying to figure that out if anyone has any knowledge.

Anybody know why or have any theories about Prestige not having WLP labels? i understand blue note not doing it since their label was mostly white already… perhaps prestige didn’t want to confuse with their 16rpm labels?
