beautifull.

I must say, although most people here on the forum are serious listeners, there is never any discussion about high-end equipment. Off course, it's about the music itself, this forum (thank god!) but i would expect more people here with a passion for the audio hardware..

This is an exact copy of the Thorens I have, the plinth made by Doug Olsen (he only made 20 of these plinths for various tables). The only significant difference is mine has a SME 3009 tone arm and this one has a Grace 707 tone arm. It is a lovely table, and sounds marvelous.

he has the same 'problem' as we have here on the forum: An almost un-natural passion for something specific! I LOVE IT!

i did some high-end equipment buying in the beginning, untill i red an article of a guy who had hifi-equipment for over 100 thousand dollars, and then he stated:.. I am ALMOST satisfied with the sound... sold everything and bought something Jezus would not be ashamed of, and started listening to the music :-)

Jok-that is a hell of a system you came across-thanks 4 the link. I imagine anyone who can afford such a setup-I stopped counting TT's at 3- wouldn't think twice about spending a thousand on the Walter Bishop. Me?I'd be content to play the OJC of Boss Tenor and call it a day. What an album!!
BTW,that system's owner also had room for a decent number of cd's,reminding viewers that good sound is not solely relegated to the LP(in spite of what you might have been told).

I suspect the Teres 255 is a DIY.

I always wondered what kind of tables people use who buy these wonderful old jazz records. I mean, you certainly do not want to be playing these on a Crosley, do you?

I have three tables, and depending on what I am playing (and the mood I'm in) generally dictates which table to use. For my old mono records, I like to use the Empire 598, and for newer music, I use my Kenwood KD 770D, and for anything I have in my collection, I play on my modified Thorens TD 160. The Empire has such a great sound with those old records, I'd highly recommend it for you collectors out there.
