There we have pre-Parker Monterose. Extraordinary find for Monterose completists.
Big fun to have Jeff Barr with us, the man behind VSOP, of which I was not aware. I used to be on Jeff’s mailing lists, a long time ago. Must have been in the late seventies.

what a greatstory! ..always strange when you hear a bluesy or hardbroken tune and it is played by a 17-year old kid.(mayby 17 in 1944 is different from 17 in 2009?) … by the way..is it strange that i have to think of coleman hawkins (body &soul) when i hear this tune?
