Pres’ Last Recording
Before I get to my post about what’s good on eBay today — and there’s plenty of good stuff — I wanted to single out this LP: Lester Young, Le Dernier Message De Lester Young, Barclay 84 069. This is a first-edition, French pressing and, frankly, I’ve never seen a copy of this in person. It is billed as Lester’s final recording and it has a great Herman Leonard picture of Pres on the cover. If any of our readers can comment on this record, I’d be very curious about some of the details. Thanks.

Hello, After my first and last reissue in 2006 with the famous Nathan Davis ‘Peace Treaty’, i decide to create ‘Sam Records’ a new Parisian label specializing in jazz vinyl reissue. The first 2 reissues are Chet Baker Quartet recorded in Paris in October 1955 and Lester Young ‘Dernier Message de Lester Young’ recorded in Paris in October 1959; both for the Barclay label. Each record is a high quality facsimile reissue using the original photo from Jean-Pierre Leloir or Herman Leonard, re-mastered from the original master tapes, limited édition 180 grs vinyl pressed by Pallas in Germany. You can these reissues on Acoustic Sounds website. Thanks for to support my reissue project? For more informations, see my Tumblr page: http://samrecords.tumblr.com/
Best regards, Fred Thomas.
