WE SEE WHAT WE WANT TO SEE

There's a nice DEXTER on dial elsewhere on the bay that's been sitting there for YEARS! The price keeps going down but not by much. Why would anyone suddenly bid on one? Pretty rare record actually and you don't see too many. Doesn't seem that people care about it too much though. I would be in at $75 or $80.00 but I'm a seller so that says it all. Weird as people will spend hundreds on records with skips on it : http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOUIS-SMITH-wSONNY-CLARK-CHARLIE-ROUSE-SMITHVILLE-RARE-ORIG58-BLUE-NOTE-MONO-LP-/160998763856?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=Ly%252BUNFFA1stiSz8t5J7i2B%252BIONQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I like how this shill promoting seller grades the lp. VG++ record (yeah VG++ WITH A SKIP!) and a VG+++ cover (yeah WITH A SPLIT and yellowing and a ding) Poor sap who buys it. It's important to inform buyers not to buy from sellers who sell other people's records. That encourages shill bidding to the point where it's mind-boggling! Leave me out please. Are people dumb? Are people with endless cash flows even dumber? This seller is their archtype! A paradigm in the shill business! The Blind buyer INC's fearless lemming leader! If the owner's of the lps for sale didn't bid on 'em you would have what the rest of all of us sellers/buyers experience. It's called the real market! Nothing new. I have been dealing with that seller for my 14 years on ebay. He got almost $600 for a NIGHT IN TUNISIA! Says it's NM vinyl. Just look at those close up pictures of the deadwax. dozens and dozens of marks. hmm ... people are dumb(?) It also has INC labels which may not be first press criteria. About $350 more than a top copy should get. It's not like it is truly rare like say, um, a blue vinyl columbian press of PINK FLOYD'S MEDDLE! Or a pink vinyl SAMHAIN. C'mon people! It's a stereo copy as well so it is a little rarer than the mono but not by much and is not as coveted as it's mono sister.
People are weird. I remember selling that exact copy of SONNY's CRIB a few years back and people on this site crucified me. Mine didn't have the INC so it was probably a little earlier. Most stunning BN record I have ever seen. No one felt sorry for me when it only sold for $400.00. Of course I don't shill and my grading is very conservative. We see what we want to see.
FYI: I told the buyer of the JR MONTEROSE (yeah the one that people on this site slammed me about) that I listed it as a reissue etc etc and he was fine. No harm. I relisted the item and sold it for what it markets at. All apologies to anyone I offended. Wanted to make sure that everyone knows that I did the right thing. Got some cool Blue Note titles ending tomorrow March 7, 2013.

I was also following these two 12" albums. Great stuff. I wonder what will happen to Way out West. Somebody must take the hurdle and jump, if he wants a real gem. Even if 500 dollars is a lot, it may be snatched by somebody paying up front the nice sum of 700. Another milestone for the jazz record guide in that case, or nobody jumps and the seller has set his goal too high.
