thanks for the nice story of this record shop. In the picture especially the “Our Man in Paris” LP hit my eye. Any idea for how much it was offered? I send a mail to Joe (found his homepage in the net) and asked for the price and whether he would send it to Germany – but have not yet received an answer. Greetings Gunter

Al, great independent record stores are still alive and well in the SF Bay Area. On Sunday, I was at Groove Yard, which in on Telegraph Ave. in Oakland. The store front is maybe 15 feet wide, and is very deep. All jazz with a very friendly owner (Rick Ballard.) I bought Yusef Lateef’s Live at Pep’s and the Herbie Harper Jazz in Hollywood 10″ blue vinyl by Nocturne. He has on display along an entire wall many 78 Jazz Album sets (maybe 50+ different.) Just step back in time and dream a little…..
