I can answer the Michael Cosmic question. Michael and Phil Musra, two brothers out of Chicago, Il. AACM associated, very far out sytle of Jazz. They made two self produced records, Phil's was titled, "Creator Spaces," Michael, who changed his name to Michael Cosmic, titled his record "Peace in the World." Both on a label called Intex. Totally handmade covers, etc., not unlike the Sun Ra Saturn records. They later lived in Boston, MA, I believe and put out a large ensemble record with another musician. I also believe Micahel made the transition. Phil, I think, is living in CA.and still putting out records.
To quote a Jazz Collector "admired" eBay seller,
these records are "Isanely Rare!!!"

Ha, yeah this is pretty great. But if I were in your shoes I would have done exactly the same thing. Would I buy a collection of BYGs, ESPs and India Navigations just to get the Michael Cosmic? For sure.
