It does seem as if the old system is back. Yesterday, there was no option for “genre” and now it is there. Didn’t mean to set everyone into a panic. I guess it points to the fact that, with the emergence of eBay as the focal point of buying and selling, we are all now subject to the mercy of their whims, If they decide to change the rules someday, we are left with little choice. But, thank goodness, they didn’t do yesterday what I thought they had done, which is eliminate jazz records as a separate searchable category. That would be a disaster indeed.

“jazz lp” gives me about 20,000 hits and about 400 pages.

since yesterday I have the same problems. The category “jazz” under records does not exist anymore. I had it in my favourites, one click only to be there. Then I would put the labels (Prestige etc).

I will try Bethellodge’s way and keep you posted.

Spoke with ebay earlier this PM. It cleared up right afterwords.
Was a site issue problem. Subcategories and item specifics are all there now on the left bar where they weren’t earlier. They were working on search for a few days.

Hi Al,

Not sure what your system was from your description, but try this – from main ebay page, under CATEGORIES, choose MUSIC, then RECORDS, then in the REFINE SEARCH section choose JAZZ under GENRE.

You can then further refine by speed or inches.

It works as of two minutes ago (11:15 eastern, sunday evening).

I had trouble searching anything yesterday, I think maybe they did some site maintenance or something. good luck.

This is not good. I do not have 8 hours a day to search for records. I narrow my search down as much as I can to 25 pages, 25 records each per week. Even then I thought I was spending to much time on ebay. Unless they fix this I’ll only be able to do searches on my favorite sellers pages, and everybody already knows about those guys.
