  • Hi Al (and all), At the risk of alienation I want to campaign for a return of Jazz Album Chatter. Sure, we all like listening to jazz whether through our own collections and/or podcasts, etc. But I think most of us are jazz vinyl collectors and speaking for many, we truly enjoy sharing and learning about particular jazz albums. Whether it be artist / session details, cover art, current values, etc. we love to talk about vintage jazz albums and discuss them. There are very few forums where knowledgable people can meet to talk about vintage jazz LPs. In fact this may be the best one. Perhaps you can reorient back toward jazz album “chatter”. I think there’s an appreciation and growth for this subject matter. Playing jazz is fine but maybe we can bifurcate the playing of jazz and the discussion of jazz.

  • Aloha Robert, I’m with you. I already support a local jazz radio station in my area that plays in my vehicle or job site. But loved coming here not just to see what records were selling at the time but the comments and learning from others and their experiences. I’m sure it wasn’t easy for Al to let go of so many records last year but I appreciated his willingness to share his journey and life’s changes for himself. Maybe he is working on having someone help him with this site to take it back to its previous style. In a way passing the torch as they say. In the meantime I’m sharing the music with others and giving out lps to those that are genuinely interested in the music and will play it, not just look at them. Take care now! Mahalo!
