Lorraine Geller’s lp is quite good and even more rare that the Eddie Costa lp on Dot. The selection “Mystery Theatre” from the Geller lp is quite cool. She died at age 30 of heart failure. Her lack of recordings may add to the value of this lp.

A minor gem went recently for just over 200 bucks: George Wallington’s “the Prestigiditator” on East/West with J.R. Monterose featured extensively.
I dig early J.R. from BLP 1536 on.

there is an other DOT piano album which I find extraordinary: it is “Basically Bagley”, Don Bagley bass (not too many solos fortunately), the very fine and delicate Jimmy Rowles at the piano and Shelley Manne on drums. DOT DLP 3070.
Unfortunately I don’t have the Lorraine Geller album and never heard it. I dig the Gellers on their EmArcy albums.

Oh that record was sold by Atomic. I see them at the record shows here all the time. I love getting a sweet score right before them. They pay top $ too for some records they sell on there auctions. I saw them pay nearly a grand for Walter Bishop Jr speak low. I don’t think they made much off of it.

I DO hope you’re wrong and try some considerations.
the number of copies is in some way limited.
the number of collectors doesn’t seem to grow,or is nowadays very limited for high prices for new generations.
collectors seldom buy to resell:those who do that resell for various reasons but keep the heart of their collection.
as several of us have noticed,all grails are being offered every week,so rare records continue to appear.
what about if mobley’s b notes,ad libs,transitions would disappear from the market for,say,one year ?
it hasn’t occurred yet,it should.
it should but doesn’t seem to happen.
maybe the market is now ruled by sellers who,to sell,must buy before.
sellers are in for the money.
collectors are in for the love of music.
as we all,I’ve paid big money for records I loved,even last month,althought Al missed it.
wanna sell ? you must find a buyer.
if you ask too much you won’t sell.
when prices will reach the sky,in a sellers only market,they will drive back.
and we,collectors,will be there.

I bought a original pressing 50th st. Saxophone Colossus that was M- one side and VG on the other with the cover VG+ on eBay in 1998 for $30. I sure miss those days.
