I saw this go for I believe $3200 in early 2009.Might have been a flook of I was hallucinating but I took notice because I bought my VG++ a number of years ago for $300-$350.Sadly it and my Tina Brooks will be on block one day.Can’t live forever and hope it get’s a nice home.

The “Tenorman” LP has been one of my favorites for many years. James Clay and Sonny Clark are superb and the whole thing really swings from start to finish. This fine session has been reissued so there’s no need to go broke to enjoy the music.

It’s an exceptional debut by James Clay. Oh by the way, Marable has a fine little group, but I never did find anything else by him. And I found my copy in a garbage can.

Al: I never saw the cover of this album, which for me took mythical proportions. I only learnt of its existence in the ’60-s through Jepsen’s discgraphy. No reason, by the way, to participate in this auction. I am very philosophical: at the time, I missed it, for very obvious reasons. It does not make sense to try to repair this now, at huge costs. You cannot have them all.
