Input from JC community also gave me impetus to also join Instagram. And I actually have two followers?! though I haven’t posted anything yet and have promptly forgotten my user name and password.
Perhaps another unused vehicle in my life joining Twitter to gather dust.

I haven't done anything, including posting on Jazz Collector. :) I have an Instagram account, but I'm still thinking about whether to use that or set up a separate account just for the jazz stuff. In the meantime, I've been playing with my records, listening and reorganizing them, but not doing anything to take part in the Instagram community. Yet. It's on my to-do list.

I've seen a number of these mini 7" LPs for sale that are in 33rpm format, with a small spindle hole rather than requiring a 45 adaptor. Here is a discogs link for the Sidewinder release: https://www.discogs.com/Lee-Morgan-The-Sidewinder/release/6278737

This must be what the article is referencing, and I've seen them for a number of titles including Cornbread, Prayer Meetin, Moods, I Want to Hold Your Hand, Indestructible and others.

re Blue Note edited discs I suggest the following reading, from Billboard August 13,1966:

Billboard December 10,1966

http://books.google.com/books?id=0CIEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PA82&dq=little+lps+blue+note+records&hl=en&ei=bbFmTbzdN4WglAffk-yAAg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CEoQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=little%20lps%20blue%20note%20records&f=false

researching, I found most at 33 1/3 rpm but also at 45 rpm (Lee Morgan). I don't know if Juke boxes could change speed or were working for 45 or 33.
hope to have answered, in part at least.
