The Tommy Potter is agreat record.As Rudolf states it was originally issued on 3 Metronome 45’s.The trumpet is Rolf Ericson,Ake Persson on trombone and a terrific rythem section :Freddie Redd,Tommy Potter and Joe Harris.The East West is very rare,I foound a copy in Belgium last year for 300 euro(350 dollar)It is still one of my favorites!

Potter on East/West: this is a U.S. issue of material recorded by Metronome in Sweden and issued there on EP only. The same material came out in the U.K. on the Nixa label, in 12″ format.
The Metronome EP’s fetch a lot of money.

That Tommy Potter looks a treat. My greatest ever (and it may end up being ever) non-record store find was a VG+ copy of “The Prestidigitator” by the George Wallington Quintet on East-West which I pulled from a dirty stack of the typical junk in an antique shop for a grand total of zero dollars (the shop owner was thrilled just to have someone take a record from the dusty pile). Never thought I’d actually own an East-West without shelling out for it, because as JC mentions, you just don’t see them around (and there were only four records released, if memory serves). The sound is top-notch, by the way. I think I may head back to that shop and try to pull out a Tommy Potter!
