Loosing is the rule on Ebay ! You can’t imagine how many times i bid and lost (always for a few bucks) on the Webster Young album “For Lady”… I still do not have it….

I should clarify, Rudolf, I bid 307 and lost by only four bucks. I accidentally erased the part where I said I lost. Of course I’m still looking for this one, and it may take some time. It’s kind of strange losing a record by a few bucks and forcing yourself to be patient- It might be a couple years before I spin this one. There’s a pretty dirty copy up right now, and also a canadian copy, but I will hold off for a vg+ or better.

Bob: you did the right thing. The price for which you bought this gem reflects the market. You did a super deal on that: this album is one of the highlights of the fifties. Dig also Bill Claxton’s cover photo.

I must dutifully admit to fellow JC followers that I bid the 307 to force the bidding up on this one. Being a new collector and not knowing the market well and not knowing what these records should go for was indeed a partial factor. But Al you hit it on the head above, I think it was more of an emotional decision, and I should stay away from those because there are so many thousands of good records to hear out there. If I win a lot of $300 records, my colletion will never get above 50 records.
