The post New Year’s Vinyl first appeared on jazzcollector.com.]]> This record seems appropriate for the time of year: Vice Guaraldi, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Fantasy 85019. This looked to be an original stereo pressing. The record and cover were listed in EX condition. The final price was $355. I always liked the music for the Peanuts gang, but I never did own this record. And still don’t. I guess it’s the season because I was watching another copy at the same time. This copy of A Charlie Brown Christmas was listed in VG++ condition for the record and EX for the cover. The final price was $227.50.

Here are some 10-inch LPs we’ve been watching, starting with Hank Mobley Quartet, Blue Note 5066. This was an original Lexington Avenue pressing. The record and cover were both listed in VG+ condition. The final price was $1,625. A merry Christmas for the buyer and the seller, I presume. Howard McGhee’s All Stars, Blue Note 5102. This was also an original Lexington Avenue pressing, listed in EX condition for the record and the cover. The final price was about $516. From the same seller, Vinyl-House-UK came this one: Illinois Jacquet, Jazz by Jacquet, Clef 167. This was an original trumpeter logo pressing, listed in VG+ condition for the record and EX for the cover. The final price was about $86.

It’s pretty apt: Although I don’t necessarily feel low, I was working on records at 3 o’clock this morning, trying to get the smell of mildew out of some of the beautiful boxed-set 78s I purchased last week and lugged home and am now trying to wedge into my collection somehow by shifting records from one shelf to another and getting records off shelves that I may not be listening to. Anyway, thought you all might appreciate this from Peanuts.
