Don-Lucky -- coincidentally, I just wrote about the boat again, and now I just saw your comment. Great minds, they say. Just to add to the story, not only did I sell Candy to finance the boat, I also sold my copy of Jackie McLean, The New Tradition. And, of course, I've never replaced that one either.

I seem to recall Al telling us how he once sold some of his more valuable albums to finance a boat many years ago... Truth be told, I did the same thing and sold a ton of my rare Blue Notes to fund a series of McIntosh Hifi upgrades about ten years back. (Yes, I realize the irony of selling records to upgrade the stereo and then having nothing to play, heh heh) Of course, I have since found and replaced all but one of those precious rarities... Thankfully, most were upgrades to what I originally had, and in many cases, I picked them up for a song the second time around so it all worked out. In my mind, buying and selling on eBay is always a gamble in a similar tune as the stock market is for the uninitiated. I still haven't found my proverbial "white whale" (Jackie McLean Quintet - The New Tradition AdLib ADL 6601) but based on Al's recent score, I remain hopeful and ever vigilant. Happy Saturday all !

I'had a NM stereo copy of Fuego for years.
I eventually sold it to a gentleman in New York quite a long time ago.

Maybe it was a wrong choice. I've absolutely no idea about what I did with the money.
