I agree that pricing has shot up in the last few years but a couple originals sold last month for less than $80. I also see that the all time high of $500 happened last month so who knows, it’s a volatile market indeed.

Honestly 2019 might as well be ancient history far as jazz vinyl prices are concerned. I sure would love to still be buying at 2019 prices, rather than 2022 prices …

And it apparently sold! Very hard to believe that is a legit sale. I sold a VG+ copy on eBay in 2019 and the auction closed at $75.

The Chet Baker got no bids at $500, so the seller relisted it as a 10-day auction with a starting bid of — $1,500?! There are some things in this world that it’s best not to try to understand.

About the Mal Waldron- Left alone:
I just bought “Left Alone Revisited: A Tribute to Billie Holiday
Archie Shepp / Mal Waldron, 2002 on vinyl, the ENJA label. (91411)
It came out only on cd in 2002, but now it is available on vinyl.
It is one of the most intimate recordings i have ever heard. Two great jazz musicians in their seventies paying
tribute to Billie Holliday.
It’s beautiful, it’s haunting.
Perfectly recorded.

I think it’s kind of a fold-in with Discogs. I’ve also heard a rumor that Discogs will allow auctions in the future though I’m not sure if that really holds water. High start prices are nothing new I guess, though sometimes they seem to keep the frenzy at a minimum.
