Like Peter, I found a Jazz Hunter stamp inside a record sleeve (Big Joe Turner “Roots of Rock and Roll” collection on Savoy), did an internet search, and found this tribute. I consider it an honor to have a record that passed through Red’s hands. I just put on some Zoot in his memory (“Warm Tenor,” on Pablo, with Jimmy Rowles, George Marx, and Mousey Alexander). RIP Red

Every record collector has stories about those who guys who taught us about Jazz…I met Red at a N.Y. Record show and we hit it off great ! I spent 2 hours talking about Zoot with Red,it was an education . I remember many people walking by his booth and sayin, “ Hey Red , got any new Zoot records ?” He was a joy and and one hell of a talker !
