a pick up group for Prestige, which recorded under A.T.’s name: Byrd, Rouse and McLean, I believe, Ray Bryant and Wendell Marshall. They were also in the Manhattan club circuit. I believe ite cat. number is PrLP 7117. Not to be confused with Taylor’s Tenors.

  • Absolutely right. On the Prestige Album, Taylor’s Wailers, Prestige 7117, they also included the track CTA from another session, which included John Coltrane, Red Garland and Paul Chambers in a straight-ahead quartet setting. This was Taylor’s first session as a leader.
