  1. My memory of Herb Geller: A long time ago, 1959, I was standing in front of a jazz bar called Mother’s. The door sprang open and the guitarist ran out and raced down the street, then the drummer.
    Then Geller came out, looked up and down, and called to us, “Anybody know where to get a g-string?”

  2. It is a very sad news. I’m a huge fan of his marvellous “Fire in the West’ IMO one of the “must have” record in every collection… Definitely a great musician and somewhat underrated as many of its colleague. We will miss him. I also think about is exquisite wife Lorraine, a brilliant pianist who died untimely. RIP, Herb…
